Role Description

Auckland Truck Transmissions (ATT) is seeking a skilled Transmission/Component Rebuilder to join our busy team. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, disassembling, repairing or reconditioning sophisticated automatic transmissions, manual gearboxes, torque converters and other related systems. This position requires mechanical expertise, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work with precision to ensure the highest quality repairs and rebuilds.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of transmission systems, gearboxes, and related mechanical components.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, and schematics.
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Basic computer skills for reporting and diagnostics.
• Good English reading and writing skills.
• Valid and clean Heavy Duty Driver’s license.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Disassemble and inspect mechanical components for damage and wear.
• Create an accurate parts list.
• Repair, clean, and replace worn parts using the right tools and techniques.
• Rebuild transmissions and components to manufacturer standards.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and assess performance.
• Follow technical manuals and schematics for accurate assembly.
• Keep the workspace clean, organised, and safe.
• Communicate with the team and provide repair reports.
• Follow safety standards and industry regulations.
• Test rebuilt components to ensure proper functionality.
